As part of the transformative new Grafton Bridge project led by Fulton Hogan, Taylor Rail was engaged to deliver all rail infrastructure works related to the replacement of the Pound Street rail bridge in a brownfield urban environment. This complex program involved the demolition of the existing bridge and installation of a new 42-metre, 425-tonne steel truss bridge during a major ARTC rail possession, with works completed ahead of schedule to support the broader civil program.

    Key Achievements:

    • Demolished the existing rail bridge, including track on deck and approaches.
    • Installed a new 42-metre, 425-tonne steel truss bridge using a 750-tonne pin jib track-mounted crane during rail possession.
Delivered all track works on the new bridge structure, including preparation, installation, and certification.
    • Completed planned rail scope ahead of time, allowing contingency use in the wider civil program.
    • Worked within a constrained brownfield site adjacent to residential areas and local streets.
    • Deployed Taylor Rail-owned resurfacing equipment and trusted rail specialists to ensure supply certainty.
    • Operated collaboratively with Fulton Hogan, ARTC, and the local community to achieve optimal outcomes.
    • Certified all track and handed back to ARTC without incident.
