Taylor Rail Australia played a key role in the multi-stage upgrade of Patrick’s Port Botany facility, working as the specialist rail contractor to civil partner Mainland Civil. The project was aimed at modernising and expanding rail infrastructure to support increased freight capacity and operational efficiency at this critical Australian port.

Stages 1 and 2 focused on constructing four new rail sidings to ARTC standards and installing extensive crane runways. The crane runways featured 800 linear meters of MRS86kg rail using Gantrail plates and specialised fastenings, ensuring durability and precision for container handling operations. Taylor Rail delivered this complex scope while adhering to stringent rail safety and quality standards, contributing to the project's on-time and on-budget completion.

In Stage 3, Taylor Rail continued its role as a trusted partner, providing expertise in rail construction and seamlessly integrating upgrades into the operational terminal environment.

    Key Achievements:

    • Delivered four ARTC-standard rail sidings to expand port rail capacity.
    • Installed 800lm of crane runway rail with precision engineering.
    • Ensured safety and operational continuity in a live port environment.
    • Collaborated with Mainland Civil to achieve best-for-project outcomes.
