    Located in western NSW, the Parkes to Narromine (P2N) project was the first major initiative delivered as part of ARTC’s Inland Rail program, connecting Brisbane to Melbourne. Contracted in February 2019, Taylor Rail and its partner were engaged to deliver complex brownfield and greenfield rail construction works across 113km of track, including the installation of new rail infrastructure, crossing loops, and turnout upgrades—setting the benchmark for future Inland Rail works.

    Key Achievements:

    • Demolished 98km and upgraded 107km of existing track with new ballast, sleepers, and rail.
    • Constructed 6km of new greenfield track as part of the Northwest Link.
    • Delivered 3 new crossing loops at Nanardine, Peak Hill, and Timjelly, and renewed multiple turnouts.
    • Installed over 20km of at-grade rail loops, level crossings, and concrete culverts.
    • Completed resurfacing, regulating, welding, stressing, and full signage installation.
    • Maintained zero TRIFR at project completion.Delivered uninterrupted rail possession works despite the region’s wettest period in 100 years and the onset of COVID.
    • Provided all safeworking services and self-performed the majority of works for cost efficiency.
    • Achieved over 50% local business participation throughout delivery.
    • Works completed in regional NSW without disruption to PN or ARTC operations.
