The Goobang Junction project, located in western NSW, delivers a critical rail link between the ARTC north-south network and Pacific National’s Parkes Logistics Terminal. This new connection significantly enhances east–west freight efficiency by supporting 1800-metre double-stacked rail services via Broken Hill. Contracted in August 2022, Taylor Rail was responsible for delivering all track construction and associated works, ensuring full integration with the national network.

    Key Achievements:

    • Constructed ~940 linear metres of new railway track including ballast, concrete sleepers, and rail.
    • Installed 2 new turnouts and completed full drainage, earthworks, and resurfacing.
    • Supplied and installed all rail materials, including signage, TCMs, and monuments.
    • Delivered an additional 750lm extension to Siding 2 under added scope from Pacific National.
    • Achieved zero TRIFR at project completion.
    • Overcame extreme weather challenges, working through the district’s wettest period in 100 years.
    • Provided complete safeworking coverage throughout the project.
